Listening to Luna: Working With the Energy of the Cancer New Moon

This New Moon in Cancer arrives with beautiful timing.

It’s the same day my oldest son flies in from out of state. For the first time in six months, all of my children will be under one roof again. ♥️

There is something deeply poetic about that. Cancer is the sign of home, nurturing, and the Mother archetype. It reminds us, growth begins when we feel safe enough to soften, receive, and be cared for.

And I realized, at the same time, life is inviting me to do the same.

In just a few weeks, I’ll undergo surgery.

Again.

😕

As I’ve begun preparing for it, I’ve found myself letting go of plans I was genuinely excited about. Classes have had to be postponed, and new opportunities – shelved for a little while longer. I am quickly paring down my calendar, and life is looking much quieter than I was anticipating.

At first, it felt like I was losing momentum. But I’ve come to understand, I am simply being invited home to my body. Home to the place that has quietly carried me through my life – with very little appreciation.

Right now, life isn’t asking me to push harder or produce more, but Cancer energy isn’t asking me to stop growing either.

It just asks us to change how we grow.

I’ve spent much of my life lately, tending to ideas, communities, and holding safe space for the people around me. Now my own body is asking for that same devotion.

Unfortunately, healing can’t be rushed – any more than a gardener can pull on the leaves to make a plant grow faster.

They water. They protect. They tend the soil. And then, they just have to trust the process. (Sounds suspiciously like mothering.)

Just ask any good gardener & they will tell you: care creates the ideal conditions where growth becomes possible.

I believe that’s the invitation of this New Moon: To come home. Not just to our families, or our homes, but to ourselves.

To loosen our grip, and trade control for care.

And to remember that not every season is meant for building.

Some seasons are meant for becoming.

As always – this is an invitation, not an assignment.🖤 But if you’re doing the work along with me…

🌟What part of myself is quietly emerging that deserves my protection?

🌟What am I trying to control that would grow better if I simply cared for it?

🌟What am I ready to nurture over the next six months?

May this New Moon remind us that often times, growth begins in quiet places where no one else can see.

I’m holding on to the belief that is exactly where the most meaningful transformations begin.🖤

🌙And if you’re doing the work, I’d love to hear how this is showing up for you!

💗Big Love & Many Blessings🌸
